The Children and Youth Ministry: Nurturing the Next Generation
The Children and Youth Ministry is foundational to the future of Midstream Methodist Church. Led by Titi Kekana, this ministry provides a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate environment for every young person, from infants through young adults, to learn about God and develop a lasting relationship with Christ.
Our work is comprehensive, ensuring a smooth discipleship journey through all stages of development. The Society Steward works closely with the dedicated Pastors responsible for the Children’s Ministry (Sunday School and Holiday Club), offering creative, faith-filled learning for younger children, and the Youth Ministry, which guides teenagers through complex questions, fellowship, and discipleship programs like Confirmation.
We coordinate with the pastoral staff and volunteer teams to deliver programs that are fun, spiritually enriching, and that integrate our young people fully into the life and worship of the wider church family.
Key Benefits of the Children and Youth Ministry
- Holistic Discipleship: Provides a continuous, structured spiritual path from childhood through adolescence, ensuring consistent growth and biblical literacy.
- Safe and Engaging Environment: Offers secure, supervised, and fun programming (like Holiday Club) that instills faith values while providing a constructive, positive alternative for local children.
- Future Church Leadership: Actively mentors and empowers youth to take on leadership roles, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity for the church’s ministry.
- Support for Families: Provides essential support and resources to parents, helping them fulfill their role as the primary spiritual leaders of their children within the home.
